MMTM Culminating Event May 14, 2026
Welcome to the RSVP portal for the 2026 Making Movies that Matter (MMTM) Youth Short Festival! This portal allows filmmakers, their friends and family along with interested community members to secure reserved seats for the red carpet gala and juried film festival on May 14th. The MMTM film festival, an arts education gift from Councilmember John Lee to the Council District 12 K-12 education community, will be held at the Soraya Performing Arts Center on the CSUN campus. The experience is cost-free for our sponsored schools and guests.
The RSVP portal will close on Wednesday, April 29th. Adjustments will be made then, if necessary. We will contact families and guests directly if their requested seats must be adjusted.
- Red Carpet Experience: 4:45 pm – 6:15 pm
- Juried Film Festival: 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
The RSVP portal will open on April 13, 2026 for our 33 sponsored schools, their students, staff and families. Reserved seats will also be made available to the general public on a first-come, first-serve basis until we reach capacity at the Soraya Performing Arts Center for our red carpet gala on May 14th.
Be reminded that your RSVP isn’t confirmed until you receive an OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION for your reservation on or around May 1st. Arrangements for ticket pickup will be made at that point.
Also, based on seating demand at previous MMTM galas, we may need to utilize a VIP overflow room upstairs in the Soraya with state of the art livestreaming should circumstances require this option.
See you at the movies!
